Even after nine successful seasons on NBC (2005-2013), the show's beloved ensemble continues to hold a special place in our hearts and minds. From the bumbling yet lovable regional manager Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell) to the endearing but awkwardly charming receptionist Pam Beesly, each character has become an integral part of pop culture history.

So why does 'The Office' remain so beloved even years after its finale? The answer lies in its expertly crafted cast of characters. From the lovable yet slightly unstable Dwight Schrute (played by Rainn Wilson) to the scheming and manipulative office politics mastermind, played perfectly by none other than that sassy little diva herself - Pam Beesly's arch-nemesis: Jan Levinson.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2018, executive producer Lee E. Pilgrim revealed that 'The Office' was always intended to be a character-driven show rather than just another workplace comedy. He said:

'We wanted people to fall in love with these characters because they're not perfect; they're actually pretty flawed and sometimes quite annoying.'

And boy did it work! The cast's undeniable chemistry, combined with the genius writing by creator-star Mindy Kaling (who also played no-nonsense HR representative Kelly Kapoor), made 'The Office' an instant hit.

Fast forward to today, and despite the departure of some key original cast members - including Carell himself after Season 7 - new faces have been brought in attempt to breathe life back into what many thought would be a dead series. However, as we all know: you can't keep good people down!

In fact, The Office did its best to soldier on without Michael Scott at the helm by introducing us to some fresh new additions such as Andy Bernard (played hilariously well by none other than Ed Helms), who quickly became everyone's favorite annoyingly cheerful co-worker.

However, while these efforts were valiant attempts to fill Steve Carells massive shoes - they ultimately failed miserably. The show struggled without its central figurehead and slowly but surely began to lose steam.

But fear not Office die-hard fans! Despite the many ups-and-downs over the years since its initial conclusion in 2013, it seems that Dunder Mifflin Scranton will live on forevermore - albeit in different forms than we ever could have imagined.
